Wooden Spoon Cafe and Bakery is a small, neighborhood spot where you can stop in for pastries baked fresh daily! Jason and Jeanette Burgett opened their charming spot in June 2010, and they’re keeping things stirred up with sophisticated homemade fare served at breakfast and lunch Tuesday through Sunday. Although the emphasis is on breakfast and lunch sandwiches, there are many more items on the roster, and the baristas keep those hot coffee drinks coming. Get in early though, as goods do sell out daily!!

Wooden Spoon turned 4 this summer and we can hardly believe it. As always we enjoy seeing so many new customers in the neighborhood and continue to send out our deepest thanks to all of our regulars who’ve stuck with us since we first opened. It is an honor for us to wake up each morning and flip our open sign for all of you!

Wooden Spoon will be open this Easter weekend for our normal business hours.

We will, however, be closed Tuesday the 22nd through Thursday the 24th for a spring vacation. Be back on Friday the 25th of April!! Thank you and happy spring.

Hello! Thanksgiving is nearly here & we have order forms at the shop. You may also call in your order, just remember to have your card number ready as all special orders must be prepaid. We are happy to email or text you a receipt. We’re looking forward to pie season!!

Wooden Spoon will be closed Thursday July 4th through Monday July 8th to celebrate the holiday and enjoy a brief summer vacation. Its owners, employees & oven thank you in advance for the break!!! We are a small, mom & pop shop & must take some time for ourselves to keep going!

As many of our neighborhood regulars can see, our pocket of Highland is continuously growing. This is great & we always welcome new faces! Jason, myself & our fantastic employees are working at keeping up with the demand however the size of our shop is still the same size it was when we opened three years ago! Physics is what it is: oven space, refrigerator space & baking space all play a roll in how much product we can provide. This means, we sell out! We have installed as many refrigerator units as Wooden Spoon can hold and will be installing a new, bigger oven sometime this summer. Our kitchen serves to its full capacity!!

Each day we wake up and strive to work our hardest to create consistently tasty goods. There are many delicious establishments that also operate on a ‘sell out’ basis & it is how we choose to maintain our business as well. In our experience, fresh food is not unlimited food. We do not have an offsite bakery warehouse! As always we appreciate & thank all of our customers. Each Saturday & Sunday that the line reaches past our front door, Jason & I look at each other & shake our heads in disbelief that you all continue to show up for a breakfast sandwich or pastry despite the wait. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
